My practical approach to business was hatched in the management environment of a start-up serving the advertising, arts, and architecture industries in the Loop and Near West Side of Chicago, IL. Subsequently moving to Omaha, NE, I began my professional accounting career where I grew to serve as a partner at a larger local CPA firm having also served as its IT director. Following my true entrepreneurial spirit, I decided to I start my own practice in 2017 to pursue my unique professional interests. Combining this management experience with several years of consulting clients through their life and business challenges, I bring an unusually broad perspective to help clients work through whatever challenges come throughout their organization's life cycle.
Significant IT operational and governance experience rounds out my professional portfolio with experience in IT internal control frameworks such as COSO or COBIT, including specialized cybersecurity framework such as the AICPA Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework or SANS CIS Critical Security Controls. My understanding conceptual frameworks is fortified by the operational application of managing networks, training users, and maintaining physical components of servers, workstations and everything in between, as well as implementing and maintainaing cloud services. I can help small business strategically navigate this complex world of information systems risk management.
